Royals Earn First Win at Tuckaseegee Dream Fields in DH Split vs. King

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Charlotte, NC - The Queens University of Charlotte softball team (10-7) earned its first victory in its new home at Tuckasagee Dream Fields splitting a doubleheader versus King University. The Royals won game one 6-5 and lost game two 12-5. 

Game One: Queens 6 King 5
Trailing by a score in the second inning, senior outfielder Alyssa Strickler bashed a home run to tie it 2-2. King stormed back for three runs in the third before sophomores McKenzie McCullen and Brianna Linder each hit two-run homers to put the Royals back on top 6-5. Senior pitcher Courtney Pearson tossed a complete seven innings recording her fourth win of the season.

Game Two: Queens 5 King 12
King drove in five runs in the fourth inning to take a demanding 5-1 lead. The Tornadoes cushioned their lead in the 7th adding five runs to lead 12-2. Queens mounted a three runs in the bottom of the seventh but fell short by a 12-5 final.

Queens is on the road Thursday in a doubleheader taking on Coker to start SAC play Thursday at 1 p.m.
