Dye Earns Spot on Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Queens University of Charlotte junior Kenny Dye was named to the 2020 DC Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team on Saturday evening, determined by a vote from media members.

Queens, the only NCAA Division II team participating, was added to the four-team field on short notice and went 1-2 during the three-day tournament. The Royals lost by one, 66-65, to George Mason University on Thursday before knocking off Howard University by an 85-71 score on Friday. Play concluded on Saturday afternoon when Queens suffered a 73-61 exhibition loss at the hands of 2019-20 NCAA Tournament qualifier Belmont University.

Dye was the unquestioned team leader during the first three games of the 2020-21 season, averaging 15.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and three steals per game. The Jacksonville, N.C. native shot 47.6 percent from the floor and made 5-of-14 (35.7 percent) of his 3-point attempts.

In the season opener, Dye led the team with 18 points, eight rebounds and five steals as the Royals narrowly missed knocking off the Patriots. In the team's first win of the year over Howard, the point guard made 7-of-13 shots for 16 points to go along with seven assists and three steals. Against Belmont, Dye finished with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists.

The Royals open South Atlantic Conference play on Wednesday, December 2 in Hartsville, S.C. against Coker University.
