Fourth-seeded Queens advanced to the second round in the South Region after defeating top-seeded Tampa, 16-15. After taking over control of the game offensively in the second half, the Royals' defensive unit stepped up in a huge way, holding the Spartans scoreless for a 10-minute span at one point. The Mocs controlled the second half action, outscoring the Tars 6-2 to knot the game at 11-11 and force overtime. However, it would be the Tars' Lily Rizk who would score the game-winner to move Rollins into the second round for the third time in program history.
