17th-Ranked Queens Uses Balanced Performance to Shutout Lincoln Memorial

eHARROGATE, TENN. – The No. 17 Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis rebounded from a midweek loss to pick up a 7-0 shutout of fellow South Atlantic Conference member Lincoln Memorial University on Sunday morning.
 
The Royals earned their first point with wins in two of three doubles matches, beginning with a 6-3 upset victory from the duo of Isabel Fornies and Viktorija Veselinova over the No. 44 doubles tandem in the country. The 11th-ranked team of Sasha Davidzenka and Yana Fleyer collected Queens second win with a 6-4 victory in the top position.
 
Queens proved dominant in singles play, sweeping all six contests. Fleyer kicked things off with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 1, followed by a 7-6, 6-1 win from Fornies at No. 3. Senior Hannah Lehfeldt secured the match decision with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 triumph at No. 4.
 
Davidzenka, the nation's 59th-ranked singles player, was a 6-3, 6-4 winner in the second flight, while Freshman Katya Khramstova won 8-1 at No. 6 and Veselinova tallied a 6-4, 7-5 win in the fourth flight.
 
"We played well today to beat a very good Lincoln Memorial team," said Queens Head Tennis Coach Billy Boykin. "This was a balanced overall performance in doubles and singles."
 
Queens remains on the road for their next match on Wednesday, April 3, when the team travels to Salisbury, N.C. for a matchup with Catawba College at 3 p.m.
