BLACKSBURG, VA. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's swimming went on the road Friday evening, taking on NCAA Division I institution Virginia Tech, which is ranked No. 24 in the latest CSCAA/TYR poll.
Queens opened the meet with a win in the 200-Yard Medley Relay from the team of
Finn Howard,
Jan Delkeskamp,
Alex Kunert, and
Brody Heck.
Kunert was a two-time runner up in the meet, finishing second in both the 200-Yard Freestyle and 100-Yard Butterfly, while taking third overall in the 200-Yard Butterfly. Delkeskamp also collect two second-place finishes, claiming silver in both the 100-Yard Breaststroke and the 200-Yard I.M.
Senior
Dmytro Sydorchenko was the runner-up in the 100-Yard Freestyle and sophomore
Luke Erwee took second in the 500-Yard Freestyle race.
The 400-Yard Freestyle Relay foursome of
Skyler Cook-Weeks,
Erico Cuna, Sydorchenko, and Heck reached the wall in 3:04.79 to finish in second place.
The Royals have two weeks to prepare for the annual Fall Frenzy which takes place on Nov. 22-24 in Charlotte, N.C. at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center.
