CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The No. 4 Queens University of Charlotte men's swimming team won two more events on Day Two of the 2019 Sheraton/Le Meridien Fall Frenzy, including two meet records at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center.
Queens opened the night with a Division II 'B' Standard time of 1:28.64 in the 200-Yard Medley Relay as the team of
Finn Howard,
Jan Delkeskamp,
Ruben Stam, and
Dmytro Sydorchenko earned a second-place finish.
Delkeskamp earned an individual victory in the 400-Yard I.M. with a Division II 'B' time of 3:55.20, while sophomores
Luke Erwee and
Mohamed Hegazy also earned 'B' cut times after finishing second and third, respectively.
Stam registered is own 'B' standard time with a runner-up finish in the 100-Yard Butterfly race before sophomore
Alex Kunert set a meet record in the 200-Yard Freestyle, reaching the wall in 1:34.92 and qualifying for the national meet in March.
Skyler Cook-Weeks,
Hendrik Faber, and Erwee also had 'B' cut times in the 200-Yard Freestyle.
Delkeskamp's second 'B' time came in the 100-Yard Breaststroke and Howard finished second in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a 'B' cut time of 48.93.
The night ended with the Royals winning the 800-Yard Freestyle Relay as the foursome of Kunert, Faber, Erwee, and Cook-Weeks turned in meet record time of 6:34.70, good enough for 'B' cut standards.
The final day of the Fall Frenzy begins tomorrow morning with prelims at 9:30 a.m. followed by the finals at 5 p.m.
