HICKORY, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team, ranked No. 39 in the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings, swept Lenoir-Rhyne University in a South Atlantic Conference matchup to break their losing streak with a 9-0 win at the YMCA of Catawba Valley.

In doubles play, the Royals took a 3-0 lead on the Bears winning all matchups with final scores being 8-4. The freshman team of Yana Fleyer and Sasha Davidzenka, who rank No. 41 in the nation, earned the team's first point in the No. 2 spot.

Senior Carlotta Nassi and sophomore Isabel Fornies won in the No. 1 spot, followed by the final doubles' win by senior Caroline Nielsen and junior Ana Bolson in the No. 3 position.

Queens dominated in singles play, winning all six matchups beginning with a 6-1, 6-0 win from Davidzenka at No. 3. Fleyer, the nation's 42nd-ranked singles player followed with a 6-4, 6-1 win as the No. 2 player.

Nassi, who ranks No. 58 in the nation in singles play, kept the winning going with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 1, while Nielsen was a 6-1, 7-6 winner in the No. 4 position. Fornies and Bolson closed out the match for the Royals winning their matchups in just one set, 8-4 and 8-2, respectively.

The Royals will host both Carson-Newman University and Johnson C. Smith University on Saturday, April 14 at the Queens Tennis Complex beginning at Noon. The team will hold a pre-match ceremony to honor its three-member senior class as a part of Queens' Senior Day festivities.
