MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.  – Queens University of Charlotte's
Todd Withers has been named to the NCCSIA College Men's Basketball All-State First Team after wrapping a spectacular career with the Royals that saw them reach the NCAA DI National Semifinals for the first time since 2003.

The Royals completed the 2017-18 season with the most wins in program history at 32-4. In that time, Queens won the NCAA DII Southeast Regional Championship to advance to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2003.

Withers, an NABC All-American, averaged 13.6 points and 8 rebounds during the season to lead the Royals in both categories. He recorded eight double-doubles this season giving him a total of 15 in his career. On Dec. 30, 2017, he pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds for his 12th. He has also recorded a career-high 29 points twice this season and surpassed the 1,000-point mark.

Over his four-year career, Withers averaged 11.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game for the Royals. Currently, he ranks third on the career rebounding list at Queens with 766. His total rebound count this year of 288 is the third most in a single season in program history. Withers also has 1,356 career points, which ranks the Royal ninth all-time at Queens in scoring.

Withers' postseason awards now include being named to the South Atlantic Conference All-Conference First and All-Tournament Teams, the D2CCA All-Region Second Team, the NCAA DII Southeast Regional All-Tournament Team, the NABC Southeast All-District Team, the NABC Division II All-American, and the NCCSIA All-State First Team. Additionally, he was named to the Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List, advancing to the Top 50 Watch List.
Nominations were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by NCCSIA members.

Founded in 2002, the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.

NCCSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball, and baseball.
