Billy Boykin made some adjustments to his lineup, but the women's tennis team remained perfect in South Atlantic Conference play with a 9-0 shutout of Mars Hill University on Friday evening.
The Royals, ranked No. 38 in the latest Oracle/ITA Women's Tennis Rankings, picked up three points in doubles play. Senior
Caroline Nielsen and junior
Hannah Lehfeldt teamed together for an 8-0 win at No. 3 for the team's first point, while, the freshman team of
Yana Fleyer and
Sasha Davidzenka collected an 8-2 win in the second position.
Senior
Carlotta Nassi and sophomore
Isabel Fornies won 8-6 playing as the No. 1 duo for the first time this season.
In singles play, Davidzenka had a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4, followed by another 6-0, 6-0 win from Fornies at No. 6 to seal the match victory for Queens.
Lehfeldt, playing in the No. 5 position, was also a 6-0, 6-0 winner on the day as Mars Hill was only able to tally six points in singles action.
Queens begins a three-match homestand on Tuesday, March 27, when the team hosts league member Catawba College at the Queens Sports Complex at 2 p.m
