Robinson Wins SAC Player of the Year, Six Royals Earn All-Conference Nods

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Queens University of Charlotte's Edmundo Robinson has been named the South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, as voted on by the League's coaches, the League announced on Thursday. Additionally, a combined six Royals have been awarded First and Second Team All-Conference honors. 
 
Queens led the Conference in First Team selections with four. Robinson, Alberto Morales, Pedro Oliveira and Michael Hornsby all notched spots on the First Team for the Royals, while Liam Doyle and Sebastian Kalk both earned spots on the Second Team. 
 
In addition to individual awards, the Royals, the SAC Regular Season Co-Champions, are named recipients of the League's Fair Play Award.

FIRST TEAM

EDMUNDO ROBINSON, F –Robinson, a senior forward from Stone Mountain, Ga., scored eight goals in the regular season, assisted on five more to result in a total of 21 points. All three of these statistical marks were a team-high for Queens. Robinson finished ranked third in the SAC in points, assists and shots (49), tied for third in goals and game-winners (3), and fourth for shots on goal (24). He was also tabbed SAC AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week for matches played from Oct. 16-21. At one point this season, the two-time First Team selection recorded at least one point in seven-of-eight matches and at least two points in six-of-eight matches. 
 
ALBERTO MORALES, F –Morales, a senior forward and captain from Granada, Spain, finished tied for third in the Conference and first for Queens with three game-winning scores out of seven total goals he accumulated for the season. A starter in all 15 matches, Morales finished second for the Royals in points (15), shots (38) and shots on goal (18). 
 
PEDRO OLIVEIRA, D – Oliveira, a senior defenseman from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, started all 15 matches and led the Royals in minutes with 1,377. He anchored a back line that helped secure the League's second-most shutouts (6) and third-least goals against (17). Oliveira also chipped in on offense and tied for third on the team with three goals on five shots, one assist and seven points. Four of his five shots and a team-leading 80 percent of attempts were fired on goal. 
 
MICHAEL HORNSBY, D – Hornsby, a sophomore defenseman from Biberach an der Riss, Germany, is making a second consecutive appearance on the All-Conference First Team. He started in all 15 games he played in while recording one goal and four assists, second-most on the team. Hornsby tallied six total points in 1,142 minutes, including an assist on the game-winning goal in Queens' 1-0 win over Anderson on Oct. 3. 
 
SECOND TEAM
 
LIAM DOYLE, MF – Doyle, a senior midfielder and captain from Newcastle, England, started all 15 games for Queens and contributed across the board in statistical categories. In 1,242 minutes, Doyle scored four goals, two of which were game-winning. His goal tally was third-most on the team, as was the case for his assists (3), total points (11), shots (15), and shots on goal (9).
 
SEBASTIAN KALK, GK – Kalk, a junior goalkeeper from Reinbek, Germany, started and played every minute in all 14 of his regular season appearances for Queens. Out of 123 shots he faced, Kalk saved 51 of them en route to six shutout performances and a .761 save percentage, both of which are second-highest in the League. Kalk's six shutouts also cracked the top-25 at 23rd for goalkeepers in all of NCAA Division II.
