Men's Cross Country Takes First at Stegemoller Classic

EVANSVILLE, Ind
. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's cross country team took home first place in the team competition at the Stegemoller Classic hosted by the University of Southern Indiana on Saturday. The Queens women finished in third place in the 15-team field.

The men compiled a team score of 70 points and ran in a total time of 2:05:22.4. The team was led by the performance of Tom Bains who ran the 8k in 24:25.3 and took second place in the individual contest. Bellarmine University finished second in the team competition with a score of 109.

On the women's side, Hannah Wolkenhauer took first place while posting a time of 17:27.0 in the 5k. The team compiled 95 points and a total time of 1:32:31.9. Southern Indiana took the top spot with 82 points.

Queens next competes as hosts of the Royals Cross Country Challenge on Sept. 29 at McAlpine Creek Park.
