Softball Pink Game Set for Saturday

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Pink will be taking over Park Road Park on March 25, as the Queens University of Charlotte softball team will be hosting a pink game and fundraising for the Susan G. Komen foundation as well as raising awareness for the NFCA Strikeout Cancer organization. Royals fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game and help the Royals meet the goal of increasing awareness and raising money for the foundation.

Since its initiation in 1989 the Susan G. Komen foundation has raised over $899 million dollars towards breast cancer research. Not only does the Susan G. Komen foundation donate to research, they also help women across the country who suffer with cancer and are struggling financially. They focus on supporting women who have the fewest resources available and reaching out to them. Additionally, the Susan G. Komen foundation looks to educate people about breast cancer across the country as educating the country about the disease is the best way to get people to take action.

To donate to this wonderful cause come out to the softball double header vs Tusculum College, and help the Royals meet their goal. First pitch is at 1 p.m. followed by game two of the double header at 3 p.m. First pitch will be thrown out by Queens' very own Amy Knab. During the pink cupcakes will be sold to raise money, and general donations for the cause will be welcomed.
