CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team swept Johnson C. Smith on Thursday, March 9, 2017. The 9-0 victory advanced Queens to 4-1 on the year while the Golden Bulls fell to 0-5.
"Everyone contributed in the win today," said Head Coach
Billy Boykin. "It was a total team effort."
The Royals tallied all three doubles courts to start off the match with a 3-0 victory.
Isabel Fornies and Jacklyn Rock tallied an 8-0 victory in the No. 2 spot. Partners

Claire Hamilton and partners
Ana Bolson and
Jasmine Woods found 8-1 victories on the No. 1 doubles court and No. 3 doubles court, respectively.
In singles, both
Carlotta Nassi and
Marta Gonzalez tallied 6-1, 6-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 flights, respectively.
Melissa Laing held a shutout on court three (6-0, 6-0) while Caroline Nielson added a win with an 8-0 tiebreak. The last two courts saw
Jacklyn Pfuhl secure a 6-0, 6-1 win on court five and
Jasmine Woods secure a 6-0, 6-0 win on court six.
The Royals will host Saint Joseph's University on Saturday. The match will be held at Freedom Park at 1 p.m.
