EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's cross country team finished in sixth place at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning, compiling 243 points and setting a program record for the best team finish at the national meet. The previous program mark was a seventh-place finish, posted by both the 2007 and 2008 teams.
"The men ran with a true team effort to finish a program-best sixth, and a heartbreaking 28 points from being on the podium," said head coach
Kevin Licht. "It was a truly selfless effort from a group that cares so deeply about the success of the team over their individual performances."
Felix Wammetsberger led the Royals running the 10k course at Angel Mounds in a time of 32:03.5 to finish in 44
th place. Wammetsberger ran just three places ahead of teammate
Daniel Wallis who took 47
th with a time of 32:06.4.

Tom Bains (32:11.9) took 52
nd,
Nick Kipkemei (32:30.0) placed 62
nd,
Tim Hoenig (32:45.0) finished 96
th,
Anthony Raftis (33:55.) ran in 160
th, and
Conal McCambridge (34:12.1) placed 185
th.
Adams State University won the team competition, compiling 44 points. James Ngandu of Tiffin University won the individual title with a time of 30:18.8.
