Box Score SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team wrapped their trip to Florida tonight with a game against Saint Leo University. Queens, ranked 14
th in the nation, walked away with a 20-13 win over the Lions to improve to 4-1 on the year. The Lions drop to 1-4 following the loss at home.
Though just outscoring the Lions in the second half 6-5, Queens would run away with a victory this evening thanks to their offensive play in the first half.

Abigail Paulus all recorded hat tricks to lead Queens.

Brittany Larranaga and Hannah Scott added two goals apiece. Dowd also totaled seven draw controls, two assists, two ground balls and a caused turnover. Paulus and
Bridgette Larranaga tallied two assists as well.
The Royals took over the game scoring in bunches throughout the opening 30 minutes of action. Following a goal from Saint Leo's Kaylah Walstad not even a minute into play, Queens responded with a pair of goals from Bruder and Masters to take a 2-1 lead. The Lions found back-to-back scores to regain control, 3-2, but their lead would be short lived as Paulus and Dowd found the back of the net to move the Royals back ahead, 4-3. Saint Leo soon knotted the game at 4-4, but another two goal push for Queens would keep the lead in their hands. Queens then led from there on out, increasing their advantage to six at the break after closing the period with three consecutive scores.
The Royals outshot the Lions, 35-22, and totaled 22 ground balls to Saint Leo's 15. Queens also won the battle at the draw, 19-16.
Christine Wiese of Queens picked up six saves in the win.
Walstead led the Lions with three goals, while four others netted two apiece. Rebecca Halley totaled 12 saves in the loss.
The Royals are back in action at Brevard on Saturday, March 19 at 4 p.m.
