Box Score GREENVILLE, Tenn.- Queens University of Charlotte volleyball team traveled to Tusculum on Friday, September 26, 2014, to face the Pioneers who took the match 25-22, 25-15, 25-14.

Meredith Jones would lead the Royals with 12 kills during the match. She would be followed by
Rebecca Cochran who would tally seven kills and six digs.
Sydney Kunz would have 35 kills attributed to her during the Tusculum match. The Royals would combine for 38 kills, 23 digs, three aces, and three blocks.Â

Tusculum was lead Megan Hasse who came away with 11 kills and four blocks. Hasse would be followed by Sabrina Schleuger who tallied nine kills, one ace, and two blocks.

The Royals started the first set with six of their first seven points coming from Bialkowski or Jones (
Alex Thompson took hold of the first Royals point). The Royals would continue their pursuit taking the lead with a blazing serve from Cochran (10-9) forcing the Pioneers to call timeout. Tusculum regained the lead at 15-14 off a Megan Hasse kill and would refuse to relinquish it. Queens would again tie the match at 17-17 with Bialkowski forcing one across the net, however Tusculum would slowly pull away taking hold of the first match 25-22.

Tusculum came out of the gate swinging launching into a 5-1 lead. Jones would take hold of two back-to-back kills bringing the Royals within one at 6-5. The Royals would remain within two with help from
Liza Schimmelfing and Bialkowski but the young squad was unable to hold the Pioneers. Tusculum would slowly build off of a 15-10 lead eventually capping off the match at 25-15.

It was Queens who would fire the first shots in the set three with
Katrina Kirby and Thompson grabbing kills. However, the Royals would slowly start to lose momentum as Tusculum took an 8-2 run (8-4). The Royals would have a boost mid-set with Kirby,
Katie Schoenrock, and Bialkowski each taking home a kill to bring the score to 14-9, but would be unable to capitalize off of it. Tusculum went on to finish the match with a 24-14 win.

Queens will travel to Mars Hill tomorrow to face the Lions at 5 PM.
