Biography

2013:  Competed in 2 matches.

High School: Played with the Jammers Volleyball Club...Served as her team captain during her senior year and was named second team all-conference and the team’s most dedicated player...Played on the varsity team all four years of her high school playing career and was named best passer after her junior and seniors years...Helped guide her team to state playoff appearances in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state competitions...Member of the National Honor Society and on A/B Honor Roll.

Personal: Born on March 30, 1994...Daughter of Lee and Lucy Schimmelfing...Father played soccer at Cortland and mother played basketball and volleyball at UNC-Chapel Hill...Majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry.

What is something interesting about you?
I competed nationally in the sport of jump rope for 12 years. I won many national titles and was the face of AAU Junior Olympics in jump rope at the age of 16.
 
Who is your role model?
My sister, Anna, is my role model.  Not only does she always set high goals for herself, but she goes above and beyond them.
 
Why did you choose that major?
I hope to attend Pharmacy School.
 
What is your favorite place on QU’s campus?

The Levine Center- not only does it have our beautiful gym, but it also has a bagel shop.
 
Why do you love Queens?
I love Queens because of its small class sizes, awesome professors, and it’s location in the wonderful city of Charlotte.
 
What is your favorite volleyball moment?
Being a part of the first team in the school’s history to make it to the NCAA tournament.
 
What do you want to be remembered for at QU?
My positive attitude and bubbly spirit.

Member of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy LEADership program since 2012, Janusian Order Honor Society Member, Tri-Beta National Biological Honor Society Member, South Athletic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll Soph. year, Queens University Dean’s List all 4 semesters
