CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Roee Zoarets has been named Queens University of Charlotte's Director of Triathlon, the University announced today. Zoarets comes to the Royals after serving as an Israeli Triathlon Association Elite National Team Coach for the past two years.

The knowledge he has gained competing globally will certainly aid in the development of our Royals as they continue to compete for national titles."Â

In his 13-year career as a member of the Israeli National Team, Zoarets won seven national titles. In 2020, he finished third at Isramen 2020 to become the first Israeli to complete one of the world's toughest Ironman events. He also took first place at Isramen Eilat 70.3 in 2022. The four-year team captain also won gold at the 2017 and 2021 Maccabiah Games.

In 2020, Zoarets established the TRIACE Triathlon Club, serving as CEO and head coach until 2024. He also served as an associate coach for a national development program for young athletes. Following his retirement from competitions in 2024, Zoarets was named an Elite National Team Coach with the Israeli Triathlon Association. He was also named RYE Triathlon Club head coach and a Multi Triathlon Club professional manager in 2025.

"Triathlon has always been about heart, hard work, and believing in the journey," Zoarets commented. "An incredible legacy has been built at Queens in the sport of triathlon, and I'm deeply honored to step into my new role as director of triathlon."

Zoarets is the third director tabbed to lead the Royals' triathlon programs since their inception in 2015. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from The Open University of Israel and holds USAT Triathlon Coach Level 1 and 2 certifications.

The 2026-2027 NCAA triathlon and men's and women's club triathlon schedules will be released in the coming weeks.
