Queens Athletics Partners with FanWord to Elevate Student-Athlete Storytelling

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Queens University of Charlotte Athletics has announced a multi-year partnership with FanWord to provide its communications team with a suite of tools to fuel the Royals' storytelling strategy and operations.

By adding FanWord Assist to the department's toolkit, Queens' communications staff will be able to produce game recaps, student-athlete bios, feature stories, weekly award nominations, and other digital content more efficiently. The result is effective internal and external communications with more room to tell the impactful stories that define Queens Athletics, complete with industry-leading editorial controls from start-to-finish.

"We're excited to partner with FanWord as we continue to elevate the way we tell the stories of Queens Athletics," said Director of Athletics Cherie Swarthout. "Our student-athletes, coaches, and staff have incredible stories that deserve to be shared, and this partnership will help us showcase those experiences in new and meaningful ways. As we continue to grow our department and build the Royals brand, FanWord's platform will enhance our ability to create engaging content, celebrate achievements across all of our programs, and connect with our fans, alumni, and supporters. We're excited for the opportunities this partnership provides to highlight the people and moments that make Queens Athletics special."

Queens joins a FanWord network of more than 225 athletics organizations across all levels of college sports. The partnership also deepens FanWord's presence across Unisun Sports — the new strategic alliance that unites the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) and the United Athletic Conference (formerly the WAC) into a 17-institution organization. FanWord now works with nine of those 17 programs, including schools such as Abilene Christian, Austin Peay, Florida Gulf Coast, Stetson, and West Florida.

"There is a future in athletic communications where proactive storytellers have more time to share the world of their student-athletes, coaches, and community," said Chris Aumueller, CEO of FanWord. "Our partnership with Queens is a pathway to that reality. We are happy to build the future for those in Charlotte and beyond."

At a time when authentic content plays an increasingly important role in brand building, revenue generation, and NIL, FanWord Assist will allow Queens to cover a full slate of sports in a way that sets the standard among NCAA Division I programs in the years to come.
