Box Score TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team traveled to face North Greenville University in a regional match this evening, snagging a 3-0 win over the Crusaders. The win brings the Royals' record to 4-5-1 on the year, while the Crusaders drop to 0-7-1.
The Royals got on the board early in today's match as midfielder
Caitlyn Rodrigues scored an unassisted goal in just the fourth minute of play. Queens would take a total of 13 shots in the opening half, but Rodrigues' would be the only to find that back of the net as the 1-0 score held into the break.
Rodrigues would be on the passing end of Queens' next goal, finding
Katie Causey who put the Royals ahead 2-0 in the 57
th minute.
Queens' final goal would come from
Julianna Tucker in the 89
th minute of regulation. Tucker's goal was the first of the sophomore's career at Queens.
The Royals completed the game outshooting North Greenville 22-9.
Tori Danchak totaled three saves in the net before
Emily Mager finished the final 25 minutes of play. Katie Tate of the Crusaders tallied 12 saves in goal.
The Royals return home to Dickson Field on Saturday when they host Newberry College at 2 p.m.
