Royals Drop Narrow Decision to North Florida

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Despite a nine-save performance from goalkeeper Emily Protiva, the Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the University of North Florida on Sunday afternoon at the Queens Sports Complex. The Royals move to 2-8-2 overall and 1-2-1 in ASUN Conference play, while the Ospreys improve to 6-2-4 overall and 3-0-1 in conference action.

Both sides came out looking to establish an early offensive rhythm, with Queens generating two opportunities in the opening six minutes. However, North Florida struck first in the eighth minute when Taylor Tamares connected with Allison Souers, who found the back of the net to give the Ospreys a 1-nil advantage. Despite the early deficit, Protiva kept the Royals within striking distance, recording four first-half saves.
