Softball drops two to Crusaders

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TIGERVILLE, S.C. -  Queens softball team travelled to North Greenville University to face off against one of the top teams in Conference Carolinas. Dropping both games the Royals are currently 10-15.

In game one the Royals struggled offensively and were outhit 8-1, and dropped the game by the score of 9-1.

In game two the Royals did pick up their play offensively, they dropped the game by the score of 5-4. Leading the Royals was Whitney Britt (Gibson, N.C., Scotland) with three hits, and Megan Lathbury (Georgetown, Del., Sussex Central)Emma Schultz (Silver Spring, Md., Paint Branch), and Amanda Meade (Bristow, Va., Osbourn Park) with two apiece.

The offensively highlight of the day was a grad slam by Britt in the third inning that accounted for all of the Royals runs in the game.

The Royals return home this Monday when they host Erskine College at Park Road Park.
