Pacers steal game two from Royals in the seventh

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 AIKEN, S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte softball team traveled to South Carolina to take on USC-Aiken in a doubleheader today. On a day that was characterized by cold, rainy weather the Royals were unable to get a win and fell to 2-8 on the year. The Pacers advance to 4-0 on the season.

Queens dropped the first game 3-0 and was able to only collect two hits in the game. Starting pitcher Chantel Dodge (Shalimar, Fla., Choctawhatchee) put up a solid performance as she only allowed six hits and struck out four batters.

The Royals were able to string together seven hits in the second game and were leading by one going into the seventh inning.  However, Queens found trouble closing the game as they gave up two runs to the Pacers in the bottom. Leading the Royals in batting the second game was Emma Schultz (Silver Spring, Md., Paint Branch) and Amanda Meade (Bristow, Va., Osbourn Park) who each collected two hits.

The Royals return to action this upcoming Tuesday when they host Wingate University in a doubleheader at Park Road Park. Game one begins at 1:30 p.m.
