MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Four goals in the first 22:06 allowed Queens University of Charlotte to register a 4-1 victory over Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon. The win pushes the Royals to 6-9 overall, 4-7 in league play. The win, coupled with a Limestone win over Mount Olive, allows the Royals to enter next week's conference tournament as the eighth and final seed. The Falcons see their season come to an end going 3-13-1, 2-8-1.
Felipe Netto (Salvador, Brazil, Colegio Candido Portinari) started scoring in the eighth minute with his shot deflecting inside the left post. Less than two minutes later,
Jeremy Chambers (Princeton, W.Va., Princeton Senior) made it a two-goal advantage with his rocket that also went in left post. Chambers then turned around and assisted on
Kevin Anderson's (Mooresville, N.C., Mooresville ) second of the season in the 20th minute before
Yannick Fischbach (Dussaldor F, Germany, J.L. Mann) connected for the fourth and final goal three minutes later.
The lone goal for the Falcons came in the 47th minute just after the intermission when Niko Andrade delivered his corner kick to the foot of Eamonn Smith who poked in his first of the season.
The Royals held a large 27-13 shots advantage with a dozen going on frame. Pfeiffer put eight of theirs on net with six being turned away by keeper
Simen Walmann (Nevlunghavn, Norway, Toppidrettsgymnaset). Queens made one team save for the other. Zach Liles knocked down eight shots in net for the Falcons.
