CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The 40th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte's (17-0) women's tennis team capped their perfect season Sunday afternoon, topping Winston-Salem State University (5-15) 5-1.

Sophomore Elena Mileva (Sofia, Bulgaria, First Private English Language School) continued her dominance in the No. 1 singles flight, picking up a 6-1, 6-3 win over Sloane Holmes. She would team with Kaitlyn Blakey (Keller, Tex., Keller) in the No. 3 doubles flight to defeat Johanna Nunez and Chelsea Chatman., 8-1.

The Royals picked up wins in two matches that included extra sets. First, in the No. 1 doubles flight, Morgan Roberts (Fort Pierce, Fla., Treasure Coast) and Hewit Hawn (Naples, Fla., Community School of Naples) outlasted Holmes and Bianka Locklear to win 9-8 (6). In singles action, Christina Engelberth (Stockholm, Sweden, Pendleton School IMG) picked up a hard-fought win, 6-1, 7-5, over Kalin Jarvis.

The Royals turn their attention to Friday, April 16, when they travel to Sumter, S.C. for the Conference Carolinas Tournament.
