BANNER ELK, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team completed their 2010 campaign with a 3-0 loss to Lees-McRae College in the quarter-final round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament Tuesday evening. With the win, the Bobcats advance to face Pfeiffer University in round two.
The Royals battled throughout the fall to get back into the play-offs after missing the 2009 post season. Queens finishes this year with a record of 4-12-1 (3-6 CC).
Lees-McRae's David Palmer (Gateshead, U.K.) netted a pair of goals to pace the Bobcats, while James Galvani (High Wycombe, U.K.) added a goal and an assist. Lee Squires (Sheffield, U.K.) and Luke Perry (Cheshire, U.K.) each tallied a helper of their own in the win tonight.
Joshua Dowd (Houston, Texas, James E. Taylor) led the Royals offense tonight taking four of the 10 shots as the Bobcats fired off 19. Simen Walmann (Nevlunghavn, NORWAY, Toppidrettsgymnaset) and John Rush (Jacksonville, Fla., Bolles) combined for five saves in the loss.
