Royals struggle against Fleet

The Royals lost 2-1.

DUE WEST- The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team dropped their second game of the week losing to Erskine College 2-1. The Royals fall to 4-5 overall and sit in fifth place in Conference Carolinas with a 3-3 conference record. The Fleet improve to 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
 
The Royals struggled today on offense in a game that saw one red card and seven yellow cards between the two teams. Jeremy Chambers (Princeton, W.Va., Princeton Senior) scored the lone goal for Queens when he found the back of the net with 36 seconds on the clock.
 
Erskine scored at 16:25 when sophomore Matt Sluga (Greer, SC) took a pass from junior Cade Weatherly (Lexington, SC) and rifled a shot past Queens' goalie Giancarlo Aristondo (Charlotte, N.C., South Mecklenburg).

The Fleet struck again at 35:59 when Graham Howard's (Lexington, SC) free kick from midfield was taken in the air by Jack Kimber (Manchester, England). Kimber's header into the back of the net put the Royals down 2-0.

Chambers goal in the final seconds gave the game a final score of 2-1.
 
Queens outshot Erskine 15-9 in today's loss. There were 32 fouls whistled in the game.

The Royals will host Catawba College on Wednesday, October 6th at 7:30 p.m. in a non-conference match-up.
