After knocking off perennial conference and regional power Lees-McRae College, Queens University of Charlotte's women's cross country team has moved into the top position in the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Rankings. In the poll's second week, the Royals moved up from 4th to the top spot for the first time in school history.

Queens surprised the preseason favorite Lady Bobcats at the Mountaineer Open beating them 132 to 179. The Royals are back in action October 3rd at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic where they will face a 30-team Division I and Division II field.
