Women's Tennis Drops Two

The women will wrapped up their regular season against Erskine College.

Misenheimer, N.C.-  The Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team lost to Pfeiffer University on April 9, 2008 by a score of 6-3. The loss drops the Royals to 4-9 overall and 2-6 in conference play. The Falcons improved to 8-10 overall.

In doubles play, Elena Mileva (Sofia, Bulgaria, First Private English Language School)and Kaitlyn Blakey (Keller, Tex., Keller)defeated Maddy Billeter and Jonnell Carpenter 8-1 for the Royals only double win of the day.

Blakey continued her good play defeating Caitie Thomas of the Falcons in singles play with set scores of 6-1 and 6-3. Hewitt Hawn (Naples, Fla., Community School of Naples)downed her opponent also winning wiht scores of 6-1 and 6-3.

The Royals were back in action the very next day against Erskine College in Due West, S.C.  The women lost 5-0 to the Flying Fleet as the match was rained out. The majority of the singles matches that were scheduled were not played due to the inclement weather. This loss wrapped up the regular season for the Royals at 4-10 overall and 2-7 in conference play.
