CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens' women's tennis team picked up its first conference win of the year, defeating Converse College 6-3 at Ovens Athletics Center on March 4.
The Royals (3-6/1-2 Conference Carolinas) went undefeated in double action with Elena Mileva (Sofia, Bulgaria, First Private English Language School) and Kaitlyn Blakey (Keller, Tex., Keller) blanking their Converse (1-6/0-3 CC) opponents Gulnora Yuldasheva and Lindsey Kelly 8-0.
In singles action the Royals won flights 1, 2, 5 and seven. Mileva and Amanda LaRocco (Islip, N.Y., Islip) limited their opponents to just one point in their matches, winning 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1, respectively.
Queens travels to Lees-McRae on March 6.
