Men's Soccer Soars Past Flying Fleet 2-1

Queens faces Mount Olive on Nov. 1

DUE WEST, S.C.- Queens University of Charlotte's David Palma (West Palm Beach, Fla., American Heritage ) rifled a shot past Erskine goalie Ronnie Murray at the 57:05 mark leading Queens to a 2-1 comeback victory at Huggins Field on Saturday afternoon and spoiling the Fleet's Senior Day activities. Queens improved to 8-6-1 on the season, 4-4-1 in Conference Carolinas. Erskine dropped to 7-8 and 3-4 in league play.

Erskine struck early in the match when freshman Brady Johnson got his first careet goal on a perfect cross from fellow freshman Eric Moxley at 2:31. The 1-0 lead held until Queens' Heath Cox (Lubbock, Tex., Monterey ) rifled a shot past Murray at 31:01. The goal was assisted by Palma. The game remained tight and hard-fought until Palma's game winner at 57:05. His goal was assisted by Chad Pinnick (Satellite Beach, Fla., Satellite ).

Queens managed 12 shots to Erskine's 4 on the day. Murray had 5 saves on the afternoon.

The Royals play their final regular season contest in Mount Olive, N.C., on Sat., Nov. 1.
