RESULTS
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's track and field programs returned for day two of the Atlantic Sun Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships today, winning gold in four events. Queens' women are fifth with 34 points after winning three events, while the men are sixth with 24 points after earning one win.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- Halle Perry secured gold in the heptathlon for the second straight year, totaling 4,850 points following today's three events. The senior finished first in both the javelin throw and 800 to help solidify her multi-event sweep at the ASUN Indoor and Outdoor Championships for the second consecutive year.
- Vesna Kljajevic also won gold, finishing first in the shot put with a throw of 15.57 meters. Her throw was a new school and personal outdoor record.
- Sara Šandric earned the third gold for the women, winning the high jump with a mark of 1.68 meters. Charlise Carlson also secured points for the Royals in the event, finishing fifth with a mark of 1.60 meters.
- Jakob Nützel won gold in discus throw for the second straight year after recording a mark of 55.13 meters.
- Petar Canak earned bronze in the long jump, recording a mark of 7.53 meters. His jump was a personal record.
- Noah Boeck collected points for Queens with a fourth-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. His time of 8:58.06 was a personal record.
- Simone Mouras qualified for the 800-meter run taking place tomorrow.
- Isaac Battles qualified for the 400 scheduled for tomorrow.
- Oliver Cooper will race in tomorrow's 800-meter run final.
