Royals Gearing Up for ASUN Outdoor Track and Field Championships Tomorrow

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete in the 2026 ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which are scheduled to take place in Jacksonville, Fla., at Hodges Stadium, located on the campus of the University of North Florida.
 
WHAT HAPPENED LAST SEASON
  • The Queens men's team completed the 2025 ASUN Championships in sixth place. Jakob Nützel was victorious in discus, claiming gold in the event. The men's 4x400 meter relay team also wrapped up the championship, earning bronze.
  • The Queens women's team captured a fourth-place finish at the 2025 ASUN Championships. Halle Perry took gold in the heptathlon, as she seeks to defend her title. Vesna Kljajevic additionally won gold in the shot put. Jada Brown also reached the podium for the Royals, claiming third place in the triple jump.
MEN'S TOP MARKS
  • Oliver Cooper holds the top mark in the 800 meters with a time of 1:48.49, as he looks to back up his gold medal finish at the ASUN Indoor Championships
  • Isaac Battles currently sits in the seventh spot with a time of 48.67 in the 400 meters.
  • The Royals have found great success on the field event side, with Nutzel's 56.82-meter discus mark being the best in the league.
  • Josiah Ford holds a conference-best 14.82-meter triple jump mark and a sixth-ranked high jump mark of 1.95 meters. Teammate Sawyer Davis is one spot behind, recording a jump of 1.92 meters.
  • Additionally, Petar Canak and Michael Robinson hold the sixth and seventh-best marks in long jump with distances of 7.11 meters and 7.03 meters.
WOMEN'S TOP MARKS
  • Kljajevic enters with the league-best shot put mark at 15.00 meters. She also ranks fifth best in javelin with a throw of 31.78 meters.
  • Sara Šandric holds the top spot in high jump with a personal best of 1.68 meters. Teammate Charlise Carlson also sits in the top five with a mark of 1.60 meters.
  • Perry holds top-10 marks in the 400-meter hurdles, high jump, and long jump, as she seeks to reclaim the heptathlon championship.
  • With a mark of 11.76 meters, Jada Brown currently claims seventh in the triple jump.
  • Simone Mouras sits seventh in the 800-meter run and ninth in the 1500-meter run with times of 2:10.82 and 4:31.98.
