RESULTS
CHARLOTTE, N.C.– The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's track and field programs continued to show improvement today as they closed out competition at the Charlotte Invitational.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- Maurice Richardson recorded a season-best time of 11.04 seconds in the men's 100. He took 15th place ahead of teammates, David Brown, Justice Bonilla, and Shane DiMantova in 17th, 22nd, and 23rd places, respectively. DiMantova's time was his best of the season as well.
- Richardson also turned in a season-best performance in the 200, finishing with a time of 22.11 seconds for 14th place.
- In the 400, Isaac Battles recorded season-best time of 48.67 seconds.
- Oliver Cooper won the men's 1500 open race with a time of 3:50. 70.
- Jakob Nutzel took second in the discus throw with a mark of 55.42 meters.
- Daniel Stajduhar threw a distance of 37.40 meters for 14th in the hammer throw. His mark was a personal record. He also recorded a personal best mark of 13.02 meters in the shot put.
- In the high jump, David Wall, Josiah Ford, and Sawyer Davis each recorded a mark of 1.87 meters for seventh, eighth, and ninth place, respectively. Wall's performance was a personal record.
- The men's 4x100 team made up of Davis, Brown, Richardson, and Ford, turned in a season-best performance, finishing third in 42.59 seconds.
- Jada Brown turned in a season-best performance in the 100 with a time of 12.55 seconds, while Maya Southerland recorded personal-best times of 24.56 seconds and 56.26 seconds in the 200 and 400, respectively.
- Makayla Bonnett also recorded a personal best time in the 400, finishing the race with a time of 59.34 seconds.
- In the women's 800-meter open, Simone Mouras took second place with a season-best time of 2:12.60. Lina Mills-Zacapa took seventh place and Gianna Mars' personal-record time of 2:23.43 was 12th best.
- Vesna Kljajevic earned sixth place in the shot put with a mark of 14.41 meters.
- Halle Perry took sixth place in the long jump with a personal-record mark of 5.81 meters. Brown and Genysis Howard turned in season-best marks in the event to finish 14th and 20th.
NEXT UP
Queens will compete in the Duke Twilight on May 3 before heading to ASUN Championships on May 14-16.
