Investing in Champions: Baseball

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Today kicks off eight days of Investing in Champions, Queens Athletics annual giving campaign. This week, Royals fans, alumni and families have a chance to invest directly in Queens Baseball — and this year, there's a challenge built for every level of generosity.

"Donor support is a huge part of the experience our student-athletes have," says Head Baseball Coach James Cullinane. "Player development tools like Trackman, AWRE and Blast Sensors all came from donors. How our athletes eat and the hotels we stay at on the road in the spring are impacted by support from donors as well."

Generosity is constantly elevating the program — a new fueling station at the field in 2024, an upgraded weight room this year, and ongoing investment in technology.

Johnny Joseph '27 feels the impact of the program throughout his life. "Being a Queens student-athlete has changed me in so many ways, from who I am at my core to how I actively accomplish my dreams and goals," he says. "I've learned what I can apply from the baseball field to my life off the field — things like meritocracy, communication, and pride in my work."

To celebrate the role donations play in the program, supporters at all levels during Investing In Champions have the opportunity to win one of our exciting donor perks. Challenges and giveaways include:

  • Bat Boy — Give $100+ and you're eligible to be a bat boy for a game (ages 8+). Give $250+ and you're entered to win 50% off a week of camp.

  • Fan Gear Package — Give $500+ for a shot at one of three gear giveaway packages.

  • Alumni Derby — Calling all Royals alumni: be one of 20 to give back this season. The largest gift takes home a throwback jersey.

  • First Pitch Challenge — Give $1,000+ and you're eligible to throw out the first pitch at an eligible game this season.

  • Champions Club — The team is challenging 5 donors to step up to the $10,000 leadership level.

Every gift will directly enhance the experience for the 42 student-athletes taking the field this season. Choose your favorite challenge and give today on baseball's campaign page.
