ASUN Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Awards Announced: Favreau Repeats as Preseason Offensive Player of the Year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Atlantic Sun Conference released its 2026 Women's Lacrosse Preseason Awards today with Queens University of Charlotte's Kayleen Favreau repeating as Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Additionally, junior defender Savannah Donahue earned a spot on the Preseason All-ASUN Team for the first time in her career.
 
Favreau is coming off a 2025 season where she earned ASUN Offensive Player of the Year honors for the second straight year. The senior attacker started in all 17 games for the Royals, totaling 60 goals and 12 assists for 72 points. Last spring, she reached the 150 career-goal and 200 career-point marks, ending her junior season with 166 goals and 209 points. She recorded a hat trick or better in 10 games, scoring a career-high nine goals against Stetson to set a new single-game record at Queens. At the close of the regular season, Favreau ranked first in the league in total goals, second in goals per game, third in points, and third in points per game. She also ranked top 15 nationally in total goals. The Holly Springs, N.C., native enters the 2026 season ranked fourth all-time at Queens in goals. This is Favreau's third consecutive season recognized on the Preseason All-ASUN Team.
 
Donahue, a New Market, Md., native, makes her first appearance on the Preseason All-ASUN squad after being named to the 2025 Women's Lacrosse All-ASUN Second Team. The defender started in all 17 games for Queens and ranked second on the team in caused turnovers and ground balls with 28 and 32, respectively. She scored her first career goal against Kennesaw State and notched a career-high four ground balls against Temple and Niagara. She also tallied a career-high four caused turnovers against Niagara.
 
The ASUN also released its Coaches Poll today, with the Royals voted to finish sixth. Queens wrapped its 2025 season with a 6-11 overall record, completing ASUN play at 3-3. This is the first season that the Royals will be eligible for NCAA DI Championship play since Queens reclassified to Division I ahead of the 2022-23 academic year.
 
Queens kicks off its 2026 season on Saturday, February 7, at East Carolina University.
