The Short Story:
Despite multi-hit games from four different Royals, the Queens University of Charlotte baseball team dropped game two of the weekend series against North Florida on Saturday afternoon. The Royals countered the Ospreys early surge with three runs in the bottom of the first inning, but were held in check scoring two runs over the final eight innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Similar to game one of the series, North Florida jumped on the board in the top of the first inning with four runs on three hits. A walk and hit-by-pitch to open the game led to a three-run blast from Carter White on a 3-2 pitch. Cade Bush followed the homer with a solo blast to right-center on a two-strike pitch as well.
-Queens responded immediately in the bottom of the first inning with a three-spot in part to a pair of timely two-out hits. Will Budnick and Justin Hudson delivered singles and Jake Barbour smoked a two-run triple off the right center wall. The two-out magic wasn't over as Tyler Peters ripped a 3-0 pitch up the middle for an RBI single and cut the deficit to 4-3.
-North Florida got back on the board in the top of the second inning plating one run by capitalizing on a Queens error. Cade Bush delivered the timely swing with a two-out RBI single to right center extending the visitor's lead to 5-3.
-The Ospreys would extend their lead in the top of the fourth inning with three runs on two hits. Following a leadoff walk, Carter White blasted a two-run homer to right field. A one-out walk from Jabin Bates and a stolen base set up a Mitchell Collins RBI double to right center extending the Ospreys lead to 8-3.
-Queens chipped away at the deficit in the bottom of the fifth inning with two-out magic. Nick Alderfer got the two-out rally started with a single to center field and Justin Hudson followed it up with a walk. Sophomore Jake Barbour stepped in and ripped an RBI single on the first pitch of the at-bat to plate Alderfer and cut the deficit to 8-4.
-The Ospreys added two key insurance runs in the top of the ninth inning. Cade Bush led off the inning with a single before back-to-back walks loaded the bases. The Royals turned to Johnny Joseph out of the bullpen to limit the damage. Queens exchanged a run for an out with a sacrifice fly and an RBI single to center field from Santiago Ordonez plated the second run. Joseph would induce a double play to escape the inning.
-Trailing 10-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Queens tried to mount a comeback. Justin Hudson delivered a sacrifice fly, but the Ospreys held on to the 10-5 victory.
