CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte head baseball coach
Jake Hendrick is excited to announce the 2026 baseball schedule on Monday afternoon. The 56-game slate features five opponents coming off NCAA Tournament appearances, and two programs coming off Super Regionals.
"This is the type of schedule you should come to expect from us with such great opponents," said Hendrick. "Appalachian State, South Carolina, Duke, and North Carolina are some great repeat opponents, but I think the non-conference schedule is really highlighted by the last six games before conference play starts."
Queens will open the 2026 campaign with a five-game homestand in the Queen City. The Royals will welcome Navy for a three-game series beginning February 13
th at the Richard "Stick" Williams Dream Fields. Following the opener, the Royals will host Big South foe Radford on Tuesday, February 17
th. Queens will head into the weekend at home against Appalachian State on Friday, February 20
th, before the remainder of the series moves to Hickory and Boone to round out the weekend.
The Royals will remain on the road during the week as they travel to Columbia for their fourth-ever meeting with South Carolina. Queens gave the Gamecocks a run in their meeting last season, trailing 3-2 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning before a four-run inning provided insurance for the college baseball powerhouse. The Royals will then return home to round out the weekend with a three-game swing against Army beginning Friday, February 27
th.
The early part of March will see the Royals on the road for eight of nine contests beginning at N.C. State on Wednesday, March 4
th. The Wolfpack are coming off its 35
th NCAA Regional appearance last season. The weekend will conclude with a four-game swing at Georgia beginning Friday, March 6
th. The meeting will be the second all-time after Georgia took the first meeting last season.
Queens will get a brief break from traveling when they host Notre Dame on Tuesday, March 10
th. The first-ever meeting will take place at Atrium Health Ballpark in Kannapolis, North Carolina at 6:00 p.m. The ASUN-ACC showdown will be the final test before Queens heads back on the road to begin league play.
"On paper, that stretch versus N.C. State, Georgia, and Notre Dame really excites me. I know those six games in a row will have us extremely prepared for ASUN play."
Queens will get league play underway when they travel to Fort Myers, Florida, for a three-game series at Florida Gulf Coast beginning Friday, March 13
th. The Royals will round out their lengthy road stretch on Wednesday, March 18
th, at Radford before returning to Charlotte for five of their next six outings. Queens will host Jacksonville on Friday, March 20
th, to kick off a three-game stand before heading across town to face rival Charlotte on Tuesday, March 24
th. The Royals will return to league play over the weekend as they welcome West Georgia beginning March 27
th.
Seven of the next eight games will be back on the road beginning at Elon on Tuesday, March 31
st. Queens will then make their second trip to the Sunshine State over the weekend to face North Florida to kick off the month of April. Queens will get another brief break in travel when they host Davidson on Tuesday, April 14
th, but quickly get back on the road for a three-game swing at Stetson and a non-conference matchup at Gardner-Webb.
The Royals will get a weekend at The Stick, hosting Florida Gulf Coast before opening up a nine-game road swing beginning at Wofford on April 21
st. Queens will then make their final regular season trip to Florida to face Jacksonville beginning April 24
th. The Royals will then head to Chapel Hill for their third-ever meeting with North Carolina, a program coming off an ACC Tournament title and Super Regional appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Queens will open the month of May at West Georgia for three games beginning May 1
st before heading to Durham to meet Duke for the second time ever.
After some lengthy road swings, Queens will wrap up the regular season with seven straight games at The Stick. Queens will host North Florida for three games beginning May 8
th before hosting Elon on Tuesday, May 12
th. The Royals will wrap up the regular season with three games against the 2025 ASUN Tournament Champions from Stetson.
"I love how challenging our ASUN schedule is, and I look forward to seeing what this team is made of against what will end up being one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country."
The 2026 season will be historic as it marks the Royals first season being eligible for the NCAA Tournament.
