THE SHORT STORY
Queens University of Charlotte could not sustain its early momentum, falling to North Alabama 87-62 in ASUN Conference action at Flowers Hall on Thursday night. The Royals drop to 7-13 overall and 1-8 in ASUN action, while the Lions improved to 10-10 overall and 5-4 in league play.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Kemia Ward led Queens with 16 points on a highly efficient 7-of-8 shooting, adding six rebounds.
- Jordyn Weaver contributed 15 points and six rebounds, also going 7-of-8 from the floor.
- Aylesha Wade chipped in 10 points, though Queens struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 2-of-11 three-point attempts.
- North Alabama was led by Charity Gallegos, who scored 20 points, including four three-pointers, while Katie Criswell added 15.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
The Royals came out strong in the first quarter, building a six-point lead early and finishing the frame ahead 19-16. However, North Alabama responded in the second quarter, taking a 34-32 halftime lead.

The third quarter proved to be the turning point, as North Alabama outscored Queens 31-15 behind an efficient 83 percent shooting performance. A 45-minute power outage with just over eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter added an unusual twist to the contest, as the Royal cut the deficit to 12 after the intermission. The Lions continue to pour it on in the final minutes of the fourth, with Queens unable to cut the deficit.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- Despite Queens' strong presence in the paint (38 points compared to UNA's 24), turnovers proved costly.
- The Royals gave up 16 turnovers, leading to 25 points for the Lions.
- North Alabama's bench outscored Queens' reserves 31-9.
