Smith Earns Academic All-ASUN Honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte's Kayla Smith has been named to the 2024 Softball Academic All-ASUN Team, the league announced today. The senior is the first in program history to earn the honor.

Kayla Smith, a graduate senior from Charlotte, N.C. earned the honor after piecing together a 3.84 cumulative GPA. Smith has since graduated with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Psychology. After her Royals career, Smith plans on going to PT school.

This season, Smith has been a staple on the Royals squad, leading the team in batting average (.331) and slugging percentage (.527). Notably, the hometown product was behind two walk-off wins for the Royals this season (one against Western Carolina, one against Stetson).

The Royals wrapped their 2024 regular season with a 28-24 record overall and 12-12 ASUN Conference record.
