CLARKSVILLE, TENN. — After an extra-innings battle to the finish, The Queens University of Charlotte softball team fell to the Austin Peay Governors in the third game of the series by a score of 1-0 on Sunday, April 21.

GAME 3 - QUEENS 0, AUSTIN PEAY 1
- In the third game of the series, a scoreless battle ensued for eight and-a-half innings before an RBI single from Raylon Roach snagged the 1-0 win for the Governors.
- Queens poked five hits on the day, with Makala Strickland, Kayla Smith, Brooke Piper, Kasidi Staley, and Natalie Windham all getting on base.
- Austin Peay's Jordan Benefiel went the distance in the circle, striking out 14 and only walking one.
- Jordan Dunn started in the circle for the Royals and went five full innings. Autumn Courtney came in relief, pitching two and two-thirds innings and struck out six.
BALLPARK BULLETS
- Over the weekend, Kayla Smith went 7-for-10 at the plate, one of the best weekends in the Division I era of her Queens career.
- Both Austin Peay and Queens did not commit an error in the third game of the series. Queens only committed one error all weekend.
- The win for the Govs snaps a nine-game losing streak for the team.
