GAME 1 - QUEENS 5, CAMPBELL 1

  • Queens kickstarted scoring in the top of the third inning drawing a leadoff walk before Kasidi Staley singled to right field. Lindsey DeRoeck would be hit by a pitch to load the bases before Brooke Piper walked to push a runner home.
  • Campbell wouldn't have an offensive response and Queens would tack on to their lead in the top of the fourth inning. A single from Natalie Windham, an RBI double from Kayla Smith, a single from Abby Craver, and a walk drawn by DeRoeck would push the Royals' lead to 3-0 before the Camels could escape further damage.
  • After another scoreless inning from the Camels, their squad would make a pitching change going into the top of the fifth. Queens would have no trouble, scoring another run in the frame.
  • Campbell would finally get on the scoreboard after a throwing error from the Royals, but would only score one run in the bottom of the inning.
  • Despite a quiet sixth inning, Queens would add to their lead after a sacrifice bunt from Windham - holding onto a 5-1 lead to take the first-game victory.

GAME 2 - QUEENS 2, CAMPBELL 10

  • In the nightcap, Campbell was able to attack early in the bottom of the first inning with groundout RBI.
  • The Camels would snag two more runs in the bottom of the second off an RBI double and off a wild pitch before a throwing error in the top of the third from the Camels would push a Royals run home.
  • The Royals would find another offensive pull in the top of the fourth inning after Mickler singled, and Piper would score on the throw. Campbell's lead would be cut in half, but a spark from the Camels in the fourth and the fifth inning would push their lead to seven runs.
  • The Camels would hold out and tally one more run in the sixth inning and finalize a game two victory.
