Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team (2-11) is on a two-game winning streak after defeating Ball State (3-10) this afternoon by a score of 3-2 in overtime. The win over the Cardinals is the first over a DI opponent for the Royals in program history.

INSIDE THE MATCH
Following goals scored by the Cardinals in the first and second quarter of today's match, the Royals entered halftime trailing 2-0. However, a goal from
Maddie Just in the third would cut the margin to one.
Sydney Smith then found the back of the net in the 54
th minute to knot the game at 2-2 and force overtime.
In the extra period, a foul in front of the cage in the 62
nd minute would give the Cardinals a penalty stroke that they missed wide. Following a Cardinals shot saved by
Madison Destefano, the Royals earned two penalty corners, scoring the game-winning goal on the second.
