CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens field hockey team improved to 3-6 this afternoon, defeating Stonehill 2-1 in a neutral-site game. The win over the Skyhawks is the first-ever for the Royals in field hockey action.
INSIDE THE MATCH
The Skyhawks struck first today, scoring a goal in the fifth minute of regulation. The 1-0 score held through three quarters of action.
Early in the fourth,
Maddie Just rebounded her own shot to put the Royals on board and tie the game, 1-1.
Amanat Dhillon followed with the game-winner in the 54th, collecting the ball off a blocked shot and putting it in the back of the cage to give Queens its first lead of the day.
