Queens Women's Basketball Lands JUCO Sharpshooter Tiziana Huici

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Queens University of Charlotte head women's basketball coach Jen Brown is excited to announce the addition of JUCO transfer Tiziana Huici to the 2023 recruiting class.

"I'm extremely grateful to have the opportunity to join the women's basketball program at Queens University of Charlotte," said Huici. "After a good talk with Coach Brown and her staff, I felt Queens would be the best fit for me to continue to grow on and off the court. I'm really excited to be a Royal! I can't wait to get there and start putting in the hard work!"

Huici comes to the Queen City after two years at the junior college level, playing for Lake Region State out of North Dakota. In her two seasons with Lake Region State, Huici was far and away the team's leading scorer, averaging a combined 16.8 points per game in her two seasons with the Royals. She began her career during the 2021-22 season and immediately put the team on her back, averaging 18.4 points per game, 11 more than the next-best on the team. At the conclusion of her freshman season, she was named First-Team All-Conference, and named to the All-Region team for NJCAA's Region 13. Additionally, she earned an invitation to the NJCAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association Top 40 All-Star and Hall of Fame event, which featured the top returning NJCAA players from all over the country.

She followed an impressive freshman campaign with a stellar sophomore season, averaging an impressive 16.4 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. Huici concluded the season as a MonDak First Team All-Conference honoree and led her team to the Region 13 semifinals.

"Tiziana is a dynamic basketball player with the ability to score at all three levels," said head coach Jen Brown. "She's a proven performer and winner. We fell in love with her passion for achieving excellence on and off the court. I'm excited to add a student-athlete of her caliber to our Royal family."
