2024 Queens Men's Tennis Schedule Release

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team released their schedule for the 2024 Spring season on Wednesday afternoon. The schedule features ten home matches and eight road matches as well as two neutral-site matches.

The Royals open the season on the road as they face UNC Charlotte at Lifetime Fitness. The 49ers defeated the Royals 6-1 last season as Edoardo Bottino recorded the sole victory for Queens in the intra-city matchup.

The Royals will travel to Furman where they are set to face both Furman and James Madison. The Paladins finished last season 11-14 and 8-4 at home which will make this a major test for the Royals. The Royals are 0-2 all-time against the James Madison Dukes with a 6-1 defeat in Blacksburg last season.

The Royals will welcome in-state rival Gardner-Webb on Sunday, January 28th for the teams' home opener.

The following week, the Royals play two games in South Carolina as they travel to Presbyterian and Coastal Carolina before returning home to face NC Central, UNC Greensboro, and Duquesne before conference matchups against Bellarmine and Austin Peay.

On Wednesday, March 20th, Queens hosts Belmont Abbey for the ninth and tenth all-time meeting between the two schools. The Royals are 8-0 all-time against the Crusaders which includes two 5-1 victories last season in Charlotte.

Following this home stretch, the Royals begin a four-game road trip with Eastern Kentucky, Lipscomb, North Alabama, and Davidson. The first three of those matchups are ASUN conference matchups for the Royals and will be the first-ever matchup with both Eastern Kentucky and Lipscomb. Queens finished 1-7 in conference play last season with their sole victory over Austin Peay who they will not face in 2024.

After this four-game stretch, the Royals return home where they host two ASUN foes in Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson and a non-conference opponent in North Carolina A&T between April 5th and 9th. The Royals are 3-1 all-time against the A&T Aggies all-time and fell for the first time last season in Charlotte 4-3.

The Royals finish the regular season with two conference matches on the road against Kennesaw State and North Florida. Last season, the Owls of Kennesaw State defeated Queens 5-0 in Charlotte.

The Royals will also host the ASUN tournament in Charlotte this season between April 19th and 21st and will hope to come out victorious after falling to North Alabama in round one last season.
