THE SHORT STORY:
Queens men's tennis closed out the season on a high note Friday afternoon, earning their first win on the season with a hard-fought 5-2 win over the Aggies. The Aggies opened the match claiming the doubles point despite a win from Queens at No. 3 doubles. Queens responded in singles play with five wins and one loss across the lineup. Gavin Ryan put the Royals on the board for the first singles point with a dominant straight-set victory at No. 5 singles, followed by another straight-set victory by Tanner Cooley to take at 2-1 lead for the Royals. The Aggies turned it around at No.2 singles as Alex Morris fell in straight sets to even the match. The Royals then ran away with remaining wins by Hamilton Huitt, Noe Villen, and Filippo Scala.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hamilton Huitt and Gavin Ryan claimed a lone 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles, before the Aggies defeated at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to earn the first point in the match.
- Ryan put the Royals on the board first in singles play with a straight-set victory at No. 5 singles.
- Cooley followed with another straight-set victory at No. 6 singles to give Queens an early 2-1 lead.
- The Aggies tied it at two apiece as Morris fell short in his singles match.
- Huitt regained control to give Queens a slight 3-2 lead late in the match, followed by Noe Villen victory to give Queens an overall first win of the season.
- Scala extended the lead with a win a No. 4 singles, battling back after dropping the opening set to win in three sets.
