CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte Head Cheerleading Coach Jasmine Cox has resigned from her position, the department announced today.
"Jasmine has been an impactful leader for our cheerleading squad since joining us in 2018 and we wish her the best in all of her future endeavors," Swarthout stated.
Cox took over the cheerleading program in August of 2018 with over 24 years of cheerleading experience. With her mission-shaped mindset, Cox's cheerleaders have been constant fixtures in the Charlotte community living up to the Queens motto, "not to be served, but to serve." Additionally, Cox helped lead the cheerleading squad to a second-place finish at Platinum Nationals in the spring of 2019.
"The commitment, enthusiasm, and dedication Coach Cox has shown over the years for Queens University, whether it be for the cheer team or for other university engagement events, will be hard to match," Queens Assistant Athletic Director for Club Sports and Wellness Leah Brackett stated. "She will be missed but we are thrilled for her as she pursues a new and exciting professional opportunity."
