WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte cheerleading squad competed at Platinum Nationals this past weekend in Winston-Salem, N.C., placing second in the team's first competition in five years.
 
In a prestigious collegiate cheer division, the Royals took second, leaving a .1 margin between first and second place. This division required teams to present 45 seconds of game-day elements including a cheer, mascot, flags, and overall collegiate image, as well as a 2:15 music performance with stunts, tumbling, pyramids, and intricate choreography. The team also received an extended invitation to compete in THE ONE Nationals later this spring.
 
"This makes me so happy," head coach of cheerleading Jasmine Cox commented. "I would like to thank my amazing athletes for their hard work and commitment this season. Also, I would like to thank the amazing community at Queens University and the amazing community partnerships for their support. "
