THE SHORT STORY
Queens kicked off the new year with its first competition against another member of the ASUN conference, hosting Austin Peay State.
Adia Brisker and
Kasey Kidwell continue to score at a high level, each posting another double-digit performance, however the Governors had the upper hand, claiming a 62-43 victory over Queens.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Brisker was the leading scorer for the Royals managing 14 points, her eighth time in double-digits this season.
- Kidwell continues to find success with the long ball, drilling 3 of 5 attempts (60%), contributing to her 11 total points on the evening.
- Down low,
Hawa Balde-Camara did a nice job giving the opposing offense issues, snatching four rebounds while earning her team-leading 18
th block of the season.

Kinley Brown logged 25 efficient minutes for Queens, netting five points while swiping a season-high five steals.

"I loved the fight and competitive spirit we displayed" said head coach
Jen Brown. "We just have to learn how to maintain a consistent level of intensity throughout the entire game. We knew Austin Peay was going to be a long, physical team. We allowed their pressure to speed us up offensively early. This is something we can and will manage. This group's never quit mentality we serve us well as we continue to compete in ASUN conference play".
